Nahts Liubaleika

Information

Name Meaning: From the Gothic words liubaleiks (“lovely”) + nahts (“night”). Nahts Liubaleika means “The Lovely Nights.”
Date: 3 days beginning on the new moon of Uhtwomenoþs.
Deities Honored: Þaibons, Fairguneis.
Activities: A celebration of love and relationships, it is an auspicious time for marriage. On the first night, Sauil receives offerings to welcome Her back. On the second night, Laguhwaþo receives offerings from Reidarjos for happy and healthy relationships, and for long-lasting relationships as well. On the final night, Her son Liufs receives offerings from Reidarjos looking to attract lovers or for success in their sexual endeavors.
Offerings: Flowers, milk, honey, grain.
Associated myth: After returning home with the rescued Sauil, the Gods celebrate Her marriage with Gapt. Laguhwaþo presides over the ceremony, attended by Her son Liufs.

O Lady of Beauty, may You bless me with happiness in my relationships.

For the third day

Simple Prayer

I welcome You, Liufs, Lustbringer, Most Handsome of Gods.
You bring blushes to the faces of besotted youths
and make their bodies burn with yearning.
O Heartsinger, may You bless me with a good time.
